Photoelectron Collection Efficiency in Photomultipliers

Abstract

Direct measurement of the photoelectron collection efficiency in the EMI 9558 photomultiplier yields a value of 75 ± 10%. The authors of this paper believe the substantially lower values recently reported to be spurious and discuss their reasons for this.
