Abstract

Optical interference coatings are designed that provide a very low reflectance and thus can be used to reduce parasitic flux in optical systems. They consist of alternate layers of magnesium fluoride and thin aluminum and reduce the radiant reflectance to less than 1% over a 80-nm spectral bandwidth.
