Abstract
A new time- and space-integrating optical linear algebra processor is described that achieves high accuracy and high-computational rates. Attention is given to the use of this system in solving banded linear algebraic equations. This new architecture readily allows partitioning and the use of nonbinary encoding. A new LU decomposition algorithm is described that significantly simplifies the required processor. A new method for handling bipolar data is also used.
