Abstract

Optical constants of gold films were determined by a modified random search computer inversion method. Good agreement of results with literature values was obtained. The calculation of n and k from R and T was realized with a powerful search technique called the statistical testing method. The sensitivity of n and k determinations to errors in R and T was investigated by computer simulation.
