Abstract
Bubble formation in a weak absorbing liquid and its subsequent trapping under the action of a cw laser beam of relatively low power are reported. The effect of the bubble trapping on the light thermal blooming is also presented. A new phenomenon of hysteresis of the thermal blooming is described. The physical origin of the observed effects is discussed.
