Inexpensive near-infrared diode-laser-based detection system for ammonia

Abstract

An inexpensive and portable ammonia monitoring system based on near-infrared GaAs-type diode lasers is described. The minimum detectable ammonia concentration is 2 parts in 106 at 100 Torr (with 1-s response time and 1-m absorption path length).
