Dual Fiber-Ring Depolarizer

Abstract

A new depolarization device based on two incoherent fiber rings is proposed and demonstrated. A detailed theory is developed and verified through experiments, which show that the device is able to provide a very low output degree of polarization (-25.7 dB),independent of the input state of polarization.
