Abstract

We propose a dynamic compensation scheme of counter-propagating effect using PM-NOLM, and demonstrate a truly dynamic 8-period input/output optical transfer function, usable for 5-bit quantizing and encoding, a crucial number for the front-end of DSP. We investigate the effective resolution with the nonlinear error and the limitation of sampling rate, and numerical simulation will show the feasibility of sampling rate up to 50 GSample/s.
