Abstract

Single cubic crystals of ZnS grown by a method previously reported by two of the authors have been investigated for optical and electrical properties, i.e., index of refraction, optical absorption, photoconductivity, dielectric constant, and lattice parameters. The method of growing crystals has been refined over the previously reported method so that larger crystals and greater yield per individual run were obtained. Both hexagonal and cubic crystals have been grown.
