Free-standing fine-wire grids: Their manufacture, performance, and use at millimeter and submillimeter wavelengths

Abstract

An improved method for manufacturing free-standing fine-wire grids is described. Measurements of the power reflectivity and transmissivity of several grids at millimeter and submillimeter wavelengths are presented, and some possible uses of the grids are briefly discussed.
