Abstract

The high-dispersion absorption spectrum of Ba i is reported for the 1770 – 1560 Å region. Observations include transitions from 6s2 1S0 to the J = 1o channels with n* ≤ 58 associated with the 6p 2Po ion core of Ba ii. Autoionization and channel mixing of the observed J = 1o channels are correlated using methods based on multichannel quantum defect theory.
