Imaging properties of defocused partitioned pupils

Abstract

The imaging properties of several types of large-Fresnel-number pupils in the presence of defocusing are analyzed using a straightforward interpretation of the defocused optical transfer function obtained from the slice-projection theorem. Some examples are shown.
