An analytical method for estimating how the design parameters affect the characteristics of optical systems

Abstract

This paper discusses a method for calculating the deviations of the coordinates of a ray on an arbitrary surface of an optical system when the design parameters of the preceding surface are perturbed. The method imposes no restrictions on the symmetry class of the system.
