Abstract
The absolute stability of a semiconductor laser that is stabilized to an absorption line in water vapor has been investigated by using an independent water-vapor cell. A shift in frequency of about 1 part in 108 per degree Celsius was measured and attributed to temperature-dependent pressure shift in water vapor.
