Single-frequency Q-switched operation of a diode-laser-pumped Nd:YAG laser

Abstract

We describe the performance of a single-frequency Q-switched Nd:YAG laser operating at 1.06 μm and optically pumped by a 100-mW diode laser. This system provides pulses of 6-μJ energy with peak powers greater than 125 W at 40-nsec duration with less than 16-MHz linewidth.
