Abstract

We have analyzed the dynamics of the selective erasure process in photorefractive crystal. The selective erasure process is much faster than the incoherent erasure process. Experimental results show good agreement with theoretical prediction. We have applied the incremental recording schedule and selective erasure process to a dynamic photorefractive optical memory and experimentally demonstrated the robust readout and fast update capabilities.
