Abstract

Submillimeter-wave laser action in deuterated fluoroform is reported for the first time to our knowledge. A total of 27 lines was observed when CDF3 was pumped by various CO2 lines in the 9- and 10-μm regions. Near-milliwatt-level cw power on 10 lines was observed in a nonoptimized hole-coupled metallic-waveguide resonator. Tentative spectroscopic assignments are made for the strongest lines.
