Abstract

An improved simulation model of switchable dual-wavelength laser has been proposed, with which the different stabilization behaviors with dual-wavelength lasers based on inhomogeneous and homogeneous active media have been analyzed. The numerical results shows that only one wavelength lasing can be supported by selecting appropriate lasing parameters, which can well explain the switching behavior of dual-wavelength switchable lasers by controlling some lasing parameters such as the pump power into gain media or the lasing intensity and wavelength of injected signal channel.
