Abstract

CW output power levels up to 4 W at 1.5 μm are realized in a Nd:YAG pumped KCl F_A(T1) center laser. The latter is used to pump a KBr:O₂⁻ (F₂⁺)_H center laser which tunes from 1.80-2.16 μm and reaches a peak output power of ~200 mW at ~1.9 μm.
