Abstract

Barium tungstate Raman shifter combined with Nd3+:GGG pump laser was proposed and demonstrated as a laser radiation source for sodium-layer laser-guide-star. The experiments showed good spectral overlapping of laser output and D2 sodium line. The Nd3+:GGG crystal temperature variation provided fine tuning of laser wavelength.
