Heat transfer measurements and high resolution absolute temperature mapping in diode-end-pumped Yb:YAG

Abstract

We report high-resolution direct absolute temperature measurements in a diode-end-pumped Yb:YAG crystal. For the first time to our knowledge, the heat transfer coefficient has been measured with four different types of thermal contact. The dynamics of thermal effects is also presented.
