Abstract

We demonstrate the colloidal synthesis of photoluminescent PbSe nanocrystal quantum-dots. Characterization shows that the wavelength of photoluminescence may be size-tuned, suggesting a wide range of optoelectronic and telecommunications applications within the infrared “telecommunications window”.
