Generation of 491 nm blue pulses by quasi-intracavity sum- frequency mixing of Q-switched diode pumped neodymium lasers

Abstract

We report the generation of 491-nm laser pulses by quasi-intracavity sum-frequency mixing. 3-ns 1064-nm Q-switched pulses were injected in a 912-nm Q-switched laser. A blue average-power output of 279-mW and a 9.3-kW peak-power were obtained.
