Similariton fiber laser around 1 µm with a photonic bandgap fiber for dispersion control

Abstract

We demonstrate a hybrid mode-locked similariton fiber laser with a photonic bandgap fiber for dispersion control. The laser generates highly-stretched parabolic pulses with pulse energies of 290 pJ at a repetition rate of 21.9 MHz.
