Abstract

We present the first microjoule-class sub-picosecond erbium-doped fiber laser at 1600 nm, and demonstrate the generation of 1.5 μJ, 605 fs pulses at 300 kHz. Both 980 nm and 1540 nm pumping schemes are investigated.
