Continuous wave and mode-locked Yb3+:Y2O3 ceramic thin-disk laser

Abstract

CW and mode locked laser operation based on an Yb3+:Y2O3 ceramic thin-disk are reported. 70-W output power with 50% optical-to-optical efficiency was achieved in CW operation. 547-fs pulses were obtained in SESAM mode-locked operation.
