Kerr-Lens Mode-Locked Yb:YAG Laser Pumped with a Single-Emitter Laser-Diode Chip

Abstract

We have succeeded in Kerr-lens modelocking of a Yb:YAG laser pumped with a single-emitter laser-diode chip, which enables us to obtain an inexpensive femtosecond-pulse laser source. The center wavelength and spectral width are 1050 nm and 40 nm, respectively.
