Abstract
The availability of fiber Bragg gratings in non-oxide glass optical fibers has been instrumental in the development of rugged and reliable mid-IR fiber lasers. The recent development of rare-earth doped as well as Raman gain fluoride all-fiber laser operating beyond 2.2 µm is reviewed.
