Tumor Angiogenesis of Carcinoma in situ, Early-stage Invasive and Larger Breast Cancers Imaged by Optical Tomography with Ultrasound Localization

Abstract

We present a spectrum of breast-tumor angiogenesis distributions from DCIS, early-stage-invasive cancers to advanced cancers. The complexity of the angiogenesis distributions suggests that intrinsic vascular contrast has a significant clinical role in distinguishing early-stage-invasive cancers.
