Development of a new fiber optic probe for fluorophore quantification in tissues

Abstract

A new type of fiber optic probe can measure fluorescence intensities from tissues which is insensitive to changes in the background pigment concentration, and may be calibrated to be insensitive to scattering coefficient changes.
