Bistable operation of the dual-wavelength fiber Raman laser

Abstract

Simultaneous CW Raman oscillation at two wavelengths of 1099 and 1105nm is achieved. Dual-wavelength emission is associated with two maxima of the Raman gain spectrum of silica fiber and laser cavity does not require pre-selection of the operating wavelengths. Bistable behavior of output emission is observed.
