Soliton-induced waveguides in a photorefractive organic glass

Abstract

We observe guidance of a probe beam at 980 nm by a soliton beam at 780 nm in an organic photorefractive monolithic glass, owing to the orientationally enhanced photorefractive nonlinearity of the material. We demonstrate both planar waveguides induced by soliton stripes and circular waveguides induced by two-dimensional solitons.
