Multilevel 2D and 3D photonic devices fabricated in glass by a femtosecond oscillator

Abstract

Layered X-couplers and three-dimensional devices are fabricated in glass using femtosecond pulses from an extended cavity oscillator. Mode analysis confirms the devices are single-mode. A determination of waveguide loss is performed by Fabry-Perot measurement.
