Chirp Characteristics of a Tunable, Optically Pumped VCSEL

Abstract

The frequency response and chirp characteristics of a 1.6 µm optically pumped tunable vertical cavity surface emitting laser are presented for the first time. The observed chirp and linewidth enhancement factor αH behavior are analyzed and discussed.
