All-optical 2R regeneration based on multi wave mixing in optical fibre

Abstract

The authors investigate the possibility of amplification and signal reshaping through a multi-wave-mixing effect inside a particular dispersion shifted fibre. The higher order mixing products exhibit a bessel-like transfer function useful for significant noise compression.
