Microfluidics with Near Infrared Fluid Handling

Abstract

We have constructed an near infrared optical system to induce thermal gradients sufficient to controllably manipulate small aqueous droplets. We have fused droplets, and observed rapid mixing, and absorption changes from a biological assay.
