Diffracted Evanescent Wave Model for Enhancement and Suppression of Optical Transmission of Subwavelength Hole Arrays

Abstract

A new model of enhanced transmission of hole arrays accounts for both transmission suppression and modest enhancement, without a surface plasmon resonance; the model is valid for nonmetallic systems, and is supported by recent experiments.
