Non-sinusoidal Phase Modulations for High Power Laser Performance Control

Abstract

We show numerically and experimentally that the use of non sinusoidal optical phase modulations instead of sinusoidal modulations improves high power laser performance. As an example, we demonstrate that pulse distortions are reduced for a same stimulated Brillouin scattering power threshold.
