High Spatial Resolution Distributed Fiber Sensor Using Raman Scattering in Single-Mode Fiber

Abstract

We demonstrate a distributed fiber temperature sensor based on Raman scattering in single-mode fiber. Using low-timing jitter superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors, we are able to achieve spatial resolution as fine as 1 cm.
