Q-switching a fiber laser with an electrically controlled microstructured fiber

Abstract

A monolithic fiber laser incorporating an electrically driven microstructured fiber is Q-switched exploiting nanosecond polarization rotation and multi-pass amplification. All components are in-fiber, simplifying fabrication and improving robustness.
