Optical Comb Sources for Suppression of Stimulated Brillouin Scattering in Long-Haul Analog Photonic Links

Abstract

We demonstrate a 50-km repeater-less analog optical link with a record spur-free dynamic range of ~ 105 dB-Hz2/3. An optical comb source mitigates stimulated Brillouin scattering allowing increased launch power and reduced optical post-amplification.
