Abstract

We report the first demonstration of a silicon optical parametric oscillator at telecommunication wavelengths using an 8-mm-long hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) waveguide. The fundamental oscillating mode can be tuned over 37 THz (290 nm).
