Abstract
Novel design of the wide range coherence digital holographic microscope (WRC DHM) is derived from the achromatic interferometer. Operational model of WRC DHM allows for the illumination by sources of wide range of coherence i.e. from partially coherent to completely spatially and temporally incoherent sources. Besides the conventional DHM modes such as quantitative phase contrast imaging and numerical 3D holographic reconstruction it provides high-quality (speckle-free) imaging, better lateral resolution and a possibility of optical sectioning by coherence gating.
