Abstract

This paper briefly introduces challenges and two 3D visual prototype systems using ray-based image sensors and electronic holography display toward ultra-realistic communication. The first system uses integral photography to capture ray information at slightly separated locations. The second system uses camera array that includes 300 cameras to capture ray information at more sparse locations than the first system. Both systems use electronic holography for 3D display.
