Thermographic Particle Image Velocimetry

Abstract

The particle image velocimetry technique can be extended to simultaneously measure fluid temperatures by seeding thermographic phosphor particles. Following UV excitation, these particles exhibit a temperature-dependent phosphorescence emission that can be utilized for thermometry.
