Abstract

We present a semi-analytical method to study the nonlinear interaction in mode multiplexed multi-mode fibers. By employing a four-wave-mixing based Gaussian-noise signal model, we investigate the nonlinear effects on the OSNR. We discuss certain fiber parameters as options to control intra- and intermodal nonlinear crosstalk.
