Abstract

The Far Infrared Spectroscopy of the Troposphere (FIRST) project has advanced to show the capabilities of building an imaging FTS that covers the long important long wavelength portion of the outgoing longwave radiation. Here we describe the motivation behind the project, the prototype instrument, and initial results.
