Perceptual issues in viewing medical images

Abstract

Medical image perception involves understanding the perceptual and cognitive processes involved in reading radiographic images and rendering a diagnostic decision. This talk will present an overview of this process and some of the work done to optimize displays for presentation of radiographic images to radiologists in the clinical environment.
