Abstract

Nanocomposites of CdS quantum dots (QDs) encapsulated in poly (propyleneimine) dendrimer with 1,4-diaminobutane (DAB) core have been synthesized. The QDs are estimated to have an approximately 3-nm diameter and fluoresce in the 380-620 nm spectral range. The fluorescence lifetime has a 165 ps fast component, and a 40 ns slow component.
