Abstract

The sensitivity enhancement of an incoherent spectral optical system by feature-specific detection is discussed. The adaptive detection is made by micro-apertures and the signals are evaluated by correlation (probability consideration). Results are presented of a signal enhancement of more than one order of an array spectrometer using such optical correlators.
